Solo & Ensemble

 

Solo and Ensemble Festival is a fantastic opportunity for student musicians to gain performing experience and receive helpful comments and suggestions from a judge. Judges are instrumental music teachers who are specially trained to preside over Festival events. To be ready for Festival, students are asked to thoroughly prepare a challenging piece of music, which is selected for them by their music director or private lesson instructor. Students who receive a “I” or “II” rating at the Festival receive medals for their outstanding performances. Solo and Ensemble Festival is sponsored by the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association.
